Legal Pulse: the most important Latvian legal updates every Monday, completely free

A free weekly summary of legal news — one email every Monday

  1. How much time does it take you to keep up with tax law, labor law, and court practice news?

  2. What would you say to the opportunity to get an overview of the most important Latvian legal updates in 10 minutes?

  3. As they say, forewarned is forearmed!

That is exactly why the resource Legal Pulse was created.

Legal Pulse is a free weekly summary of the main legal news in Latvia.

Every Monday, the project compiles the week’s most important developments, briefly retells each publication in its own words, and provides a direct link to the original. You read the summary, understand whether it applies to you. If it does — you go to the original source.

Website: https://tiesibupulss.lv/lv/

The project is non-profit: free of charge and free of advertising.

Where the news comes from

The summary is compiled from 89 sources. These include the Saeima, the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Revenue Service, the Register of Enterprises, the courts, Latvijas Vēstnesis, likumi.lv, the Court of Justice of the EU, major law firms, and business publications.

You no longer need to visit dozens of websites. Everything is already gathered in one issue.

What topics are covered

Debt collection and enforcement of judgments; Civil procedure; Arbitration and mediation; Insolvency; Contracts, trade, obligations and commercial law; Labor law; Real estate; Taxes; Financial services; Data protection; New legislation, court practice and analytics.

Criminal law, administrative law, family law, inheritance law, and migration law are not included in the summary. The project is aimed at what matters for business and commercial relationships.

Why this is useful specifically for you

If you are a company manager, lawyer, or accountant — you work with contracts, debtors, and business partners — most of the topics in the summary apply directly to you.

A creditor will learn about new rules on debt collection and enforcement of judgments.

An entrepreneur will notice changes in taxes and labor law in time.

A company’s accountant and lawyer will receive a review of court practice without manual searching.

A landlord and a real estate buyer will be informed about changes in their field.

How to read it conveniently

An issue comes out every Monday. One issue usually contains from 80 to 110 publications.

You can read it online on the website or download it as a PDF.

Three languages are available: Latvian, Russian, and English.

The website has an archive of all issues, search, and sections by topic — convenient for returning to a needed piece of news after a month.

The role of the Riga Arbitration Court

The project was created with the support of the founder of the Riga Arbitration Court.

For us, this is a continuation of the same task for which we write our own publications: so that entrepreneurs know their rights and do not lose money because they did not learn about an important change in time.

Important to remember

The summaries in the issue are brief. Legal significance belongs only to the original, available via the link.

The compilation of materials happens automatically, so individual publications may not be included in the issue.

Legal Pulse is information, not legal advice. If a piece of news relates to your situation, consult a lawyer.

Three steps to take right now

  1. Open https://tiesibupulss.lv/lv/ and check out the latest issue.

  2. Sign up for the free mailing list — one email every Monday, you can unsubscribe at any time.

  3. Forward the link to your accountant, lawyer, or partner — it will be useful for them too.

Whoever knows about legal changes in time makes decisions faster and with more confidence.
